Bayan University has introduced an everyone inclusive strategy with its student community at the core. The university has put forward a new regulation that guides students to create a university approved Gmail account. 'Google mail, also called Gmail' is a web-based email account in which emails are stored on the internet rather than on your computer. Internet email can be a flexible option as you can access emails from any computer that has internet access – for example, at internet cafés – anywhere in the world.
In this guide, we’re going to show you how to get started with a university approved email by creating an account in Gmail. You’ll need a computer with internet access. Follow these step-by-step instructions and poster below to create a Gmail account.
- Step 1: Open up your internet browser and go to the Google homepage: https://accounts.google.com/Signup
- Step 2: To set up your new university Gmail account, Google needs some information about you – first, your first and last names. This need to your formal, official names exactly as your National ID card and Passport (Kartí Barí Sharistaní).
- Step 3: The ‘choose your username’ is the unique email address that Bayan University approve, which will be placed before ‘@gmail.com’. Because it needs to be unique to Bayan University, you need to follow Bayan University regulation as the poster below. You add your first name's official spelling and DOT (.) then National ID card number without any letters, only the number (jhimarey kartí Barí Sharistaní be bé herf eger legellídaye). Google may have to check the availability of any name that you decide on to make sure that no one already has it. Type an email name into the ‘choose your username’ box and then fill out the rest of your information. You will need to ensure that the ‘I agree to the Google terms of service and Privacy Policy’ is ticked. Then click next step.
- NOTE: if you combination NAME and ID is taken, please just add ONE ZERO before your ID, If your ID is 958746, just make it 0958746.
- Step 4: Please follow the steps shown on the poster below to correctly create your university approved Gmail.
Please note that this email is used throughout your time at Bayan University by all department and administration unit at the university. You need to make sure that you have access to your account at all the time. Please for your password just use a phone number of a relative as your password so you do not forget/ lose your password, such as @7502543612#.
